Step 1: estimate parcel weight

Add 100–200 g for consolidated packaging.
Step 2: volumetric weight
Couriers bill whichever is higher — actual weight or volumetric weight (length × width × height in cm, divided by a divisor, commonly 6,000). Bulky-but-light items such as puffer jackets and shoe boxes often get billed by volume. That is why removing shoe boxes genuinely cuts the bill.
